OUR EXTENDED FAMILY
Meet the heart and soul of our farm....
These beautiful creatures all have a place and purpose in our family. Some of them rescued, some purposely sort out to help expand programs, develop skills, educate and share all that they have to offer with others . All our animals help towards creating a sustainable program and work towards biodiversity.
We will be looking into rescuing and re-homing more animals in the future.
ARROW
Leader of the pack
Arrow was the first 4 legged friend we welcomed to our family. He is a gentle giant that will happily accept cuddles, wear a party hat or just hang out with the guys/girls.
He is an ex race horse that is worth his weight in gold.
COPPER
Second in charge
Copper was a rescue horse we welcomed to our family in 2019. He was scared of his own shadow and even more afraid of people when we first met him. Over time Copper has come out of his shell and realised he had nothing to be afraid of. He now loves people and enjoys all the attention....and food.
LADY BAA BAA
Fastest sheep in the valley
Baa Baa was rescued from a local farmer. She was one of 3 lambs born and required 24 hour care and feeding. She became Sarahs side kick at Women Washing Windows and followed her around everywhere she went. Now she is a sheep she happily lives in the paddock with her farm friends. She has been known as the fastest sheep in the valley after winning the 'Annual sheep race' however she also loves her food. This seems to be slowing her down lately. :)
BLACK SHEEP
Aka Beyonce
Beyonce was welcomed to our family as a companion for BaaBaa. Hence the name 'black sheep'. Beyonce was also hand raised by a young boy in the valley and loves being around people.
MISSY MOO
farmyard favourite
Missy moo was rescued in 2019. She was bread as beef cattle, however struggled to suckle from her mother. Lucky for her she came to live with us when she was a few weeks old, and now lives out her days with her farm friends. She had a rough start to life and was a little nervous around people, however she too has learn't, alongside some of our participants that there is nothing to be afraid of.
CHICKENS
Hard woking ladies
We have the most respect for these ladies and roosters. They are free range on our property and originally purchased so that we could have free range eggs, However these chickens have been a big part of the program in other areas also. A number of visitors enjoy interacting, engaging and petting these girls too.
THE BEE FAMILY
Head of biodiversity
We entered the world of beekeeping in 2019. We are forever learning and grateful for all the support from our local keeper Mick and the team at Flow Hive.
We have been lucky enough to harvest some of the liquid gold already and are enjoying this new venture.
Our bees are an intergral part of our farming program.
BEAU
2IC
Beau is Sarah's one true love. Got his name from Arrow (Beau and Arrow )
He is loved by all and has a personality like no other. He prides himself on making sure all the animals are safe and where they should be. One of his favourite things to do, when he is not chasing a ball, is the evening routine. Beau rounds up the chickens at night and makes sure they are locked up safely.
PENNY LEE
Director of Operations
With a face that could melt butter Penny is definitely a crowd favourite. She will do anything for food and loves affection, sleeping on the bed, home cooked meals and days at the beach. Don't let this little face fool you though. Penny knows exactly what she wants and how to get it. She uses her cuteness to her advantage on a regular basis and gets away with 99% of what she wants.
She is the oldest of our 4 legged friends.
BANJO
entrepreneur
Banjo is the farmyard cat that makes his own rules and shows up when and where he wants. Usually for food, a cuddle or to take his place in front of the fire.
Nothing else need be said without his approval :)
